In 2012, Comanche Cattle Company was formed with the goal of becoming the premier Akaushi breeder. We have retained our fullblood genetics as well as focusing on polled purebred genetics. In 2024, Comanche Cattle Company absorbed some of the assets and genetics of Broken Winds Cattle Company. The foundation females of the Broken Winds herd trace back to red polled Angus; selected for their sound conformation, docile temperament, and high performance. This strong genetic foundation ensures consistent quality and reliable performance in the herd's future generations. These traits continue to present themselves in the Comanche herd standing at the Bar 73 ranch today. In 2025, Comanche Cattle Company began to formally work with Chickadee Cattle Company to produce the finest Akaushi cattle you will find.

Chickadee Cattle Company was established in 2017 with the vision of raising full blood Akaushi cattle. The founders of Chickadee Cattle Company began their cattle journey over 20 years ago when they worked for Comanche Cattle Company. The same family values that built Comanche Cattle Company also built Chickadee Cattle Company, setting the foundation for an effective partnership.
